OMG! You've decided to commit and start your Loc Journey with Microlocks. You've had your initial consultation for Microlocks and decided on the foundation for your locs. We've discussed budget and the time it will take to install them. You're SUPER EXCITED (so am I!) but maybe you're still feeling a bit nervous about what to expect during that first appointment? I totally understand, I've been there. But not to worry, I am going to walk with you on this journey. During our consultation I made you a promise, that I was just as committed to this journey as you are and will be with you every step of the way. Here's what you can expect when you arrive at Holistic Hair Sanctuary.
When you arrive at Holistic Hair Sanctuary for your installation appointment, we'll sit down and chat over tea/coffee, giving us a bit of time to settle in for the morning (it's going to be a long day), we'll recap our consultation notes and answer any questions you have about the initial process. We'll take out your test locs (if you still have them in), go through inspiration photos again so we're all on the same page with regard to what you do -- and don't want your locs to look like. Keep in mind that you won't have an accurate idea of what your locs will blossom into until after they start to swell and go through a "budding" phase. Your locs will NOT look exactly like anyone else's, as you are as unique and different as the strands of your hair.
After we have a clear idea of your expectations, I'll assess your hair and scalp again to come up with your customized regimen for the day. You will receive a shampoo and conditioning treatment service, a trim (if needed), and hair will be stretched and dried before beginning the installation process. Hair will be sectioned off and parted based on your desired grid/parting pattern, and the locs will be installed using the agreed upon method. Because this is such a long service, breaks will be built into our schedule to allow you to stretch. take a break, and have lunch. You may feel free to eat in our Cafe area located on the upper level of the salon suites. Once our break is over, we will jump right back into your installation. As discussed during your consultation, an installation may take 1 to 3 days so plan to sit for a bit. Feel free to bring a book, Kindle, iPad, etc. We also have a tablet for you to watch movies/read digital magazines. Get comfy because we will be together for at least 10 hours.
Now, the best part! All of your locs have been installed and counted (only upon request) and you get to see this gorgeous labor of love in the mirror. At this time, we will discuss your follow-up appointments and home hair care routine. You will leave the salon with a custom Starter Loc Kit filled with hair care goodies and your next appointment for your initial maintenance will be scheduled.
